أعلنت منذ قليل اللجنة المنظمة لحفل قناة "MTV" السنوي والذي من المقرر إقامته في السابع من شهر مايو المقبل، وقد تضمنت قائمة الترشيحات عددًا من الجوائز الجديدة، والتي تدرجها إدارة المهرجان للمرة الأولى ضمن قوائم الجوائز، حيث كان أغلب الجوائز في السابق خاصة بالموسيقى فقط.
وقد شملت قائمة الترشيحات سيطرة كبيرة لفيلم الغموض والرعب "Get Out" للنجم دانيال كالويا، والنجمة أليسون وليامز، بواقع ستة ترشيحات، وجاءت القائمة الكاملة للترشيحات على هذا النحو:
